Mijn naam is Gerard Bierens, ik woon in Eindhoven, Nederland. In 2002, ver voor de 2.0 hype, ben ik gestart met bloggen. Mijn 'Weblog Zonder Haast' was daarmee de eerste biblioblog in Nederland. Voornamelijk schrijf ik hier over bibliotheken, onderwijs en internettechnologie. Naast blogger, trainer, spreker en freelance schrijver ben ik actief als ontwikkelaar van de digitale mediatheek van Fontys Hogescholen. Mijn functie daar zou je kunnen omschrijven als ontwikkelaar/trainer/enzovoorts. Onderwerpen waarmee ik me bij Fontys bezig hou zijn onder andere weblogs, wiki's, kennismanagement, repositories, screencasting, bibliotheek-zoekmachines, metadata en verkennen van innovatieve web- en bibliotheek toepassingen.
My name is Gerard Bierens, I'm from Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Back in 2002, way before the web 2.0 hype, I started blogging. This made me the first library blogger in the Netherlands. Main topics here are libraries, education and the ever evolving web. Next to being a blogger, trainer, speaker and freelance writer, I also work as developer of the digital library of the Fontys University of Applied Sciences. My job description: not sure, but 'library developer/trainer/writer' comes close. Most of the time I'm having a ball, doing projects involving weblogs, wiki's, knowledgemanagement, repositories, screencasting, library searchengines and exploring innovative web and library tools.
