MetadataLibWorld - library blogs worldwide in boekvorm
Ergens in het voorjaar van 2007 werd ik benaderd door de bedenkers van het Libworld-project. Het idee om bloggers van ’all over the world‘ een stukje te laten schrijven over de lokale biblioblogosphere sprak me wel aan. En niet alleen mij, ook tientallen bibliobloggers uit andere landen hebben intussen hun bijdrage geleverd.
En vanaf vandaag is LibWorld verkrijgbaar in boekvorm (via Lulu te bestellen of als gratis pdf), met ook mijn bijdrage namens Nederland er in. Als geheel is het een mooi overzicht geworden van de beginjaren, de eerste stapjes van bibliotheken ’all over the world‘ in de richting van web 2.0. Het is natuurlijk niet meer dan een momentopname, maar naarmate de toekomst dichterbij komt, gaat deze uitgave steeds meer historische betekenis krijgen.
We kenden het natuurlijk al, maar leuk om te zien dat het nu ECHT is. En nog leuker om je eigen naam erin terug te lezen, naast die van de andere bibloggers.

And if I understood the last sentence correctly (my dutch lessons are really long ago...): Yes, it is just a snapshot, it can’t be more. But at least for me it is a neverending source of inspiration to read of all those different blogospheres all over the world.

yes, you read it correct, to me it is a document which paints the picture of the early years of the global library blogosphere. That’s what makes this book so interesting, a must read for all future librarians.
